YES! Young Executives for Success

immixdesign | June 10, 2009

Dress for Success Seattle has launched a new volunteer branch called, YES! Young Executives for Success.

YES! is geared toward young professional women, and offers a fresh new approach to networking and fundraising in Seattle. It is where business and philanthropy come to meet and mingle through exciting events that “raise the fun” while “raising funds” for the organization.

Immix Design has had the opportunity to participate in a few of the YES! events over the past few months. As a participant and firm looking to network we established a great connection with this organization and have offered our design services in the form of a new logo. Immix design is excited to extend our services for free to this wonderful establishment. Here are a few of the initial logo ideas:

Jen and Jody’s Kind Words

immixdesign | May 20, 2009

Jen and Jody Seattle BrideAs always, such a pleasure to work with Jen and Jody Photography. They are a husband and wife team, and shoot STUNNING wedding photos. We love working on their design and marketing projects because of their friendly communication style and ability to share ideas openly— while still allowing room for suggestions and creativity.

The  ad to the left will be in the upcoming issue of Seattle Bride. Keep an eye out for it! :)

We’d also like to thank you Jen and Jody for their kind words today:

“Simply put, the best investment we have ever made. Hands down Jennifer and Michelle do an amazing job. They listen to our needs and produce a product that truly defines what we do. We could not recommend them enough.” ~Cheers! Jen and Jody Photography

Every little bit counts…

immixdesign | March 28, 2009

jenjody_color6

One of our fantastic clients, Jen and Jody Photography, have provided us with multiple opportunites to utilize their gorgeous photos.  This past week we were asked to come up with a 3 5/8″ x  1″ ad to represent their company as a sponsor in the Jewish Film Festival.  This was not necessarily a huge project that would require a lot of our time. However it was another great opportunity to stay connected to our client and provide them the necessary tools when needed. We enjoy any chance to merge our design techniques with the exquisite photographs Jen and Jody consistently produce.

Get the Most Out of Your Design Team

immixdesign | March 4, 2009

We always recommend that you define the goals of your project and think about your desired outcome. Take time to consider why you are bringing in a design consultant:

1.) A VENDOR You have an exact idea, and are looking for someone to produce it. Usually the reason for choosing this type of designer is because they are less expensive, meaning they are fresh out of school, doing design as a second job, etc.

2.) A PARTNER You have a rough idea, but you want input and creativity added… you have a desire to collaborate. Generally, this type of creativity comes from a more experienced designer, and more often than not, a small team of designers focusing on your project.  They are accustomed to highly creative, demanding assignments, and thrive on a close-nit team.

How does a design team help you add creativity to your company? We will engage in discussions with you, learn about your business, your competition, and do additional research and brainstorming of our own. We work hard to craft innovative concepts—and ultimately a perfect outcome to your design.

When a design team is more integrated in your internal marketing and strategy conversations, they have the ability to share their expertise, interject ideas, and have a clear picture of the overall project. This also opens up to a more creative environment because they aren’t just working blindly on one small piece.

It’s always best to have ideas in mind, but invite your design team in and be open to the creative process. You’ll find they will help your ideas transcend in ways that you didn’t expect, adding creativity and value.

Devoted Design

dedicated balance

Immix Design had the opportunity to work directly with Dedicated Balance, a brand new bookkeeping company located in Ballard, Washington. Small business to small business we were able to connect and establish a genuine working relationship. We first took a look at what Dedicated Balance is all about. From there we collectively translated the foundation of the company into a visual expression.

Dedicated Balance is reliable, straight forward and concise. When they say they will do something you know it will be done. These are characteristics that we saw and experienced on a personal level not because we read their resume or mission statement. Strong relationships allow for open communication and in return produce the most direct and accurate work. We love for clients to be open and honest about their experience and design aspirations.

As a result of being a new business they were conscious of their printing budget. Taking this into consideration we connected them to Victory Graphics, another small business located in the greater Seattle area. Victory Graphics provided them with beautiful business cards for under $300. It pays to know the small guys!

We also had the opportunity to create their website as well. See it go live after May 1st at dedicatedbalance.com
