Greetings from Across the Pond!

immixdesign | May 26, 2009

img_36541For the next three weeks I have the amazing opportunity to be amongst the hustle and bustle of busy London England. The reason for my stay is to visit some good family friends and help watch their two children while they are away on Holiday. While in the big city I will also be able to continue my design work and hopefully find a little cultural inspiration.

My second day in London and we were already country bound. Destination, Twyford, a small remote country town just 40 minutes west of London by train. Approaching the 5 acre, gated estate I knew we were heading for the real deal. The gorgeous country home was fully equipped with swimming pool, tennis courts, 5 wine cellars, rare exotic pheasants and monkeys. Yes, thats right there were full on monkeys. Needless to say our short stay was nothing but entertaining.

Historical architechture permeates every aspect of the city of London. However,  I felt like the country surroundings provided the perfect comparison to the somewhat rigid lines of the city. Rolling hills, quaint streets and shops provided the essence of the country experience. Some times design tends to always be edgy and out there but I think this trip was a good reminder that design can be relaxing and peaceful as well.

Jen and Jody’s Kind Words

immixdesign | May 20, 2009

Jen and Jody Seattle BrideAs always, such a pleasure to work with Jen and Jody Photography. They are a husband and wife team, and shoot STUNNING wedding photos. We love working on their design and marketing projects because of their friendly communication style and ability to share ideas openly— while still allowing room for suggestions and creativity.

The  ad to the left will be in the upcoming issue of Seattle Bride. Keep an eye out for it! :)

We’d also like to thank you Jen and Jody for their kind words today:

“Simply put, the best investment we have ever made. Hands down Jennifer and Michelle do an amazing job. They listen to our needs and produce a product that truly defines what we do. We could not recommend them enough.” ~Cheers! Jen and Jody Photography

Memorable Images, “the beginnings…”

immixdesign | May 7, 2009

Memorable Images presents nothing but the best lighthouses, landscapes and breathtaking scenery from across the globe. Immix Design has the opportunity to work with their spectacular photographs. The end goal is to perfect a website that not only embodies their talent but also provides a clear and easy way to purchase prints.

The drawing board is always the first and most important step to work out ideas, visions and begin to brainstorm. Panoramic was what came to mind when we set out to design a layout for the website. The photographs are the point, the main focus and what we want viewers to see first. The pictures do speak for themselves but we also want to make sure the layout provides a strong foundation to accomplish this vision.

Check out the beginnings…

Dedicated Balance is Live!

immixdesign | May 1, 2009

Dedicated Balance Bookkeeping has breached the world wide web with candor and charisma. DBB strives to manifest integrity and true accomplishment in the work that they do. We wanted to see those characteristics reflected in the visual aspects of their online interface.

We started with the concept of “balance” and developed the layout and imagery from this foundation. From the navigational buttons to the stacked rocks you feel a sense of symmetry. Creating a clean and simple consistency throughout the site helps viewers grasp the overall objective.

Take a look at a few pages from the site…
